How quickly can you put a cabling crew on site?

We mobilise in waves: a first team on site while the rest complete induction and documentation, so the job starts without waiting for the full roster. For UK sites that is typically within a week of a confirmed rate.

Which countries do you supply data centre crews in?

The United Kingdom, Ireland and mainland Europe from one UK contract, plus our own crews in Malaysia and Singapore for the Johor–Singapore corridor.

Do you handle cross-border compliance?

Yes. A1 certificates, posting declarations and local site cards — Carte BTP in France, SOKA-BAU in Germany, ECS and CSCS in the UK and Ireland — are completed before anyone travels.

Are your engineers vetted?

Every operative is checked before we offer them: identity and right to work, trade competence backed by references from previous sites, cards, tickets and medical fitness. The full pack is issued to the client before mobilisation.

Do you charge an introduction or transfer fee?

No. There is no finder's fee, and no transfer fee if a client later takes an engineer on directly after a fair qualifying period.

Is an OTDR enough to certify a fibre installation?

No. Under TIA-568.3-D, Tier 1 testing with an optical loss test set or a light source and power meter is the required certification test; Tier 2 OTDR testing is optional and supplemental. An OTDR reports total link loss and locates events along the link, but TIA does not recognise it as a means of certifying fibre performance. If a pack was submitted as OTDR traces alone, that is very likely the reason it came back.

The installer has demobilised. Can you re-test without them?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We test, certify and produce the results pack against your specification and your labelling schedule. What we need from you is the spec, the as-built and the reason the original pack was rejected — that last one usually tells us how much of the hall has to be re-walked.

Send the site, the scale and the deadline and you will have an honest answer the same working day, including no when the date is not achievable.

That is the cheaper version of this conversation. Testing and certification handled properly the first time costs a fraction of a re-walk, and it is why we treat the results pack as part of the deliverable rather than as paperwork produced at the end.

Remediation

Test results rejected? Here is why, and what it takes to close it out

A rejected results pack is not a paperwork problem. It is a live remediation cost with a date attached, and usually the tester was never the thing that went wrong.

Most rejected results failed before the tester was switched on. The measurements are often fine; what fails is the half hour of setup around them, and by the time a consultant sends the pack back the crew has demobilised and the programme has moved on.

The most expensive version of this is a tier mismatch, because it invalidates the whole submission rather than a few links. Under TIA-568.3-D, Tier 1 testing — link attenuation, length and polarity, measured with an optical loss test set or a light source and power meter — is the required test. Tier 2, using an OTDR, is optional and supplemental. An OTDR can report total link loss, but TIA does not recognise it as a means of certifying fibre performance.

Which means a pack of OTDR traces submitted as certification is not certification. It is diagnostic data. Contractors who submit it in good faith find the warranty they promised the client cannot be issued.

The rest of the causes are smaller, more common, and just as fatal to a handover date.

The wrong test limit selected

Permanent link tested against channel, or the wrong category chosen on the tester. Every number looks healthy. The pack is rejected against the specification it was supposed to prove.

OTDR submitted as certification

Tier 2 data offered where Tier 1 is required. TIA-568.3-D asks for OLTS or LSPM for certification; the OTDR is for locating events along the link, not proving the link passes.

Reference not set, or set once for the week

The reference method and the day it was taken govern the loss budget. Set on Monday for a fortnight of testing, the results drift and a reviewer can see it.

Labelling that does not match the as-built

Every result correct and nobody able to prove which link it belongs to. This is the single most common rejection we see and it costs a full re-walk of the hall.

Adapters out of calibration or wrong for the link

The adapter is part of the measurement. An out-of-date calibration certificate invalidates the set even when the readings look clean.

Exported as a PDF of a summary screen

Consultants interrogate the native test file. A screenshot summary tells them the contractor either could not export properly or did not want them looking closely — and both readings end the same way.
