About this data
Facilities are objects tagged telecom=data_center or building=data_center in OpenStreetMap. This is what volunteers have mapped, not a census: coverage differs a lot between countries, and many sites carry no name or operator.
Cables are undersea lines tagged in OpenStreetMap (communication=line + location=underwater and related tags). The set is partial. Dashed lines are routes OpenStreetMap itself marks as speculative. Landing points are derived from cable ends at the shoreline.
